First Edition Responsa Rabbi Akiva Eiger: Personal Copy of HaTzaddik Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher of Greiditz with Lengthy Unpublished Glosses

Many handwritten comments on Responsa Rabbi Akiva Eiger by Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher, Av Beis Din of Greiditz and prized disciple of Rabbi Akiva Eiger.
The majority of the comments are long and full of interesting content, some of which extend across the entire page.
This Responsa Rabbi Akiva Eiger is a first edition published in Warsaw, 1834, and includes two title pages.

Rabbi Eliyahu Guttmacher (1796 – 1874) was known by all as the "Tzaddik of Greiditz" and was one of the first and primary disciples of Rabbi Akiva Eiger in Poznań. He learned by him following his marriage and remained in close contact with him after accepting a rabbinical position, via correspondence  of Torah and regarding various communal matters.
Rabbi Akiva referred to Rabbi Eliyahu as his "best friend and love of his heart, " and testified that "the Torah dances in his midst."
Rabbi Guttmacher referred to his Rabbi as a "Sefer Torah" and regarded his words, "as though they were given over at Sinai." He wrote that studying Rabbi Akiva Eiger’s sefarim is a segula to be saved in body, soul, and possessions.
