Letter from Rabbi Yisrael Isser Tauber, Disciple of the Chassam Sofer and Yerios Shlomo

Letter from Rabbi Yisrael Isser Tauber of Ir-Chadash, addressed to his rabbi, Rabbi Shlomo Ulman, Av Beis Din of Mako and author of Yerios Shlomo.

This long, interesting letter dated 1857 discusses some Torah novellae as well as Rabbi Ulman’s newly published
sefer Yeri’os Shlomo and clearly depicts Rabbi Yisrael Isser’s deep regard and admiration for his rabbi.

Rabbi Yisrael Isser Tauber (1823 – 1904) was a disciple of the Chassam Sofer, the Yeri’os Shlomo and Rabbi Yechezkel Banet, Av Beis Din of Neutra. In 1850 he was appointed Dayan of Ir-Chaddash and served in this capacity until his passing. He authored Ezrach Ra’anan and Mekor Yisrael.
