Handwritten Letter from Rebbetzin Faiga Baila Halberstam, Daughter of the Shinover, Frysztak 1933

A long letter handwritten in Yiddish by Rebbetzin Faiga Baila Halberstam, daughter of the Shinover.

The letter is regarding the wedding of her orphaned grandson, Rabbi Aryeh Leibush, who was the son of Rabbi Avigdor, son-in-law of Rabbi Naftali Rubin, Av Beis Din of Vizhnitz.
In the letter, written on her personal stationary, Rebbetzin Faiga Baila writes that she was unable to make her way to Shinowa for her holy father's yahrzeit and that she sent a kvitle (note) with her grandson. Her signature can be found ten lines from the bottom.
Rebbetzin Faiga Baila Halberstam was the daughter of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Shinowa and widow of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Frysztak. She was a renowned and righteous woman about which her father testified that she was from the three righteous women of her generation. People would flock to her for blessings and for a pidyon. She was murdered in the Holocaust in 1941.
