Manuscript from Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald, Av Beis Din of Satmar; Handwritten Novellae and Letter
Handwritten novellae (58 pages) on Shas, Rambam and Shulchan Aruch by Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald, Av Beis Din of Satmar. Included in the manuscript are novellae on concepts in tractates Avoda Zara, Kedushin, Kesuvos, Beitza, Pesachim and Bava Metzia. It also includes a few compositions on the Rambam and Shulchan Aruch.
There is also a handwritten letter dated 1902 addressed to Rabbi Yosef Leib Sofer, Av Beis Din of Paks and author of Yalkut Sofer.
Rabbi Yehuda Greenwald (1867 – 1928) was the Av Beis Din of Satmar and one of the leading rabbis of Hungary in his time. He was a close disciple of the Chassam Sofer and learned by the Goren David and Imrei David as well. His yeshiva in Hungary was one of the largest in the country. He authored many sefarim including Responsa Zichron Yehuda – three parts.
