First Edition Chok L'Yisrael with Decorated Title Page, Prague 1798
The Rambam's tally of mitzvos asey and lo sa'asey along with the Ramban's objections, copied along with explanations from Rabbi Yisrael Halevi Landau, son of the Noda B'yehuda.
This first edition, printed in Prague 1798, includes a beautifully decorated title page. It was printed anonymously and marked only with the first and last letters of the author's name: yud – lamed, hey – yud, lamed – aleph (Yisrael Halevi Landau).
The sefer is signed by Rabbi Kappel Lichtenstein, Av Beis Din of Betlan and brother of Rabbi Hillel Lichtenstein of Kolemayer. He passed away in 1892.
