Two Signed, Handwritten Halachic Responsa by Rabbi Moshe Aharon Taubes, Author of To'afos Re’aim and Karnei Re’aim

A handwritten booklet with halachic responsa by Rabbi Moshe Aharon Taubes, Av Beis Din of Śniatyn and Yas and author of the To’afos Re’aim responsa.

Included are two signed responsa:
The first long response, dated 1839, was written when he was serving as rabbi of Śniatyn.
The second response, dated 1844, was written when he was serving as rabbi of Yas and its provinces.
Rabbi Moshe Aharon Taubes, author of Shu"t To'afos Re'aim and Karnei Re’aim on the Maharsha, was born in Lvov, Galicia. He served as rabbi of Śniatyn, Galicia and later as Av Beis Din of Yas, Romania until his death. Considered one of the greatest rabbis of Romania, he was an ardent fighter against the assimilation. He was well-known in Chassidic circles as well and his granddaughter, daughter of Rabbi Shmuel Shmelka Taubes, author of Chayei Olam, married the Admor Rabbi Mottle of Nadvorna.
