Rabbi Yosef Shaul HaLevi Nathanson (1807 – 1874) was the author of Shaul Umeishiv and Av Beis Din of Lvov. From all over the world, people would send him their halachic questions and request his endorsement. He was looked up to by the great leaders of the generation such as the Rabbi Chaim Sanzer .
