An extraordinary document attesting to one of the most interesting controversies in the Orthodox community of Yerushalayim.
A four page written document from Rabbi Amram Blau to the rabbanim of the Eidah Chareidis of Yerushalayim regarding his controversial engagement to the Giyoret Ruth ben David.
The engagement of Rabbi Blau, a prominent rabbi of the Eidah Chareidis, to Ruth ben David, a forty year old convert and former Catholic, evoked strong opposition from the Neturei Karta sector. His sons and disciples saw this as a major blight to his honor and status. furthermore the big age gap between them posed a halachic problem as well. As a result, he was excommunicated and forbidden from marrying her.
In this letter, Rabbi Amram responds to each of the claims made by the Eidah Chareidis in detail, proving that prophets married converts and that the prohibition against marrying someone so much younger then himself no longer applied.
On the last page he writes several harsh statements against those who oppose him.
