Yabia Omer: First Sefer Published
by Rabbi Ovadia Yosef at Age Eighteen,  Jerusalem 1938

The first sefer published by Rabbi Ovadia Yosef containing novellae in the order of the Tana'im and Amora'im on Talmud, tractate Horiyus.

Already here in his first sefer Rabbi Ovadia's vast knowledge and great rhetoric is evident. Published in 1938, Rabbi Ovadia was only eighteen years old and a student of the Porat Yosef yeshivah,
At the beginning of the sefer there is an endorsement from his teacher, Rabbi Eliyahu Lopez.
On the last page Rabbi Ovadia writes, "Because of printing expenses I stopped here, and if I regain the expenses that I spent, I will bli neder continue to publish."
