Enthusiastic Letter from the Brisker Rav, Rabbi Yitzchak Zev HaLevi Soloveitchik, Regarding Spreading Family Purity
"The immensity and graveness of the prohibition of this grave ervah is known to all, that the two of them will stand all their days in the prohibition of Kareis, Heaven forbid… and the children are born tarnished and tainted as testified by Chazal. And all this is clearly known to every Jewish man… and it is a loss with no eternal rectification… and whoever has the ability in his hands, it is certainly his duty not to whisper but rather to speak incessantly to the hearts of the nation… because the matter is in their souls and in the souls of their children."
A letter from Rabbi Yitzchak Zev HaLevi Soloveitchik, Av Beis Din of Brisk, addressed to the heads of the Committee for Family Purity.
At the start of the letter Rabbi Yitzchak Zev apologized that he will not be able to participate in their convention "because of my asthma which holds me back from anything strenuous."
The letter, dated the 23rd of September, 1943, was handwritten by his son Rabbi Yosha Ber Soloveitchik and is signed by the Brisker Rav in full: Respectfully, Yitzchak Zev ben HaGa'on HaChassid Rabbi of the entire Diaspora, Rabbi Chaim HaLevi Soloveitchik.
