A letter from Rabbi Moshe of Shatz to Rabbi Moshe Chara"g of Tzefas, head of the Vizhnitz Kollel in Zfath .

Sent from Vienne in Cheshvan, 1892, Rabbi Moshe was probably there for medical reasons.

Rabbi Moshe Hager of Shatz (1864 – 1926) was the son of Rabbi Baruch of Vizhnitz and brother of Rabbi Yisrael of Vizhnitz. He grew up under the wings of his holy grandfather the Tzemach Tzaddik. In 1892 he was appointed Admor and attracted thousands of followers. He was known for his special prayers and songs and for especially uplifting Shabbosim, all despite the fact that he lived a life filled with suffering.
