Rabbi Avraham Shag –  Autograph Large Handwritten Talmudic Novellae from Rabbi Avraham Shag, Av Beis Din of Kobelsdorf

A large volume containing handwritten novellae on the Talmud by Rabbi Avraham Shag, Av Beis Din of Kobelsdorf.

Included are novellae of tractates Bava Kamma, Bava Metziah, Bava Basra, Gitin, Beitzah, Keddushin, Pesachim, Kesuvos, Nedarim and Chulin, as well as various other compilations. The earliest date mentioned in the manuscript is 1828 and the latest date mentioned is 1868.
There are also some interesting personal notes at the beginning of some of the tractates. For example, at the beginning of tractate Pesachim he writes: "I began tractate Pesachim in the winter of 1867. May I merit from Hashem to learn and teach… "
It seems that these novellae have never been brought to print.
Rabbi Avraham Shag – Zwebner (1801 – 1876) was a renowned and holy scholar who studied under the Chassam Sofer from a young age and was among his greatest disciples. He served as Av Beis Din of Czeszte and later as Av Beis Din of Kobelsdorf. Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld and Rabbi Meshulem Feish, Av Beis Din of Tosh, were both disciples of Rabbi Avraham Shag.
