Rare First Edition
Bound in wooden panels with nine decoratively embossed and engraved silver plates attached on panels, as well as silver closing clasps; Frankfurt Silver hallmarks, beginning of the 18th century.
Sifsei Chachamim is considered one of the most important commentaries on Rashi. Generally printed in an abbreviated version, this first edition was printed by the author in its entirety.
It includes four title pages: The chumash itself has two, which include copper engravings with illustrations of Moshe, Aharon, the Aron Habris and Har Sinai, and there is a separate title page for the Haftorahs and for the Megilahs.
