Handwritten "Teudas Chaver" Issued by Rabbi Eliezer Zusman Sofer, Author of the Yalkut Eliezer

A handwritten letter of recommendation and a "Teudas Chaver" from Rabi Eliezer Zusman Sofer to his student Rabbi Yisrael Katz.

In it he writes, "To adorn him with the chosen crown of glory that is to be called by the name that is befitting him in all areas of holiness, Hachaver Rabbi Yisrael."

Rabbi Eliezer Zusman Sofer (1828 – 1902) was the Av Beis Din of Paks and one of the leading rabbinical leaders of Hungary. He was the son of Rabbi Mordechai Ephraim Fishel Sofer and son-in-law of Rabbi Yoel Ungar, the previous Av Beis Din of Paks. He was a student of the Chasam Sofer, the Ksav Sofer and the Maharam Schick.

This certificate was issued in Paks in 1891.
