A two page halachic response regarding the Controversy of the Land Sale During the Shmita Year, written entirely by the Rogechover Gaon – R. Yoseph Rozen

מחיר פתיחה: $2,000
|
הערכה: $5,000 - $7,500

This letter was written to R. Dovid (presumably R. Dovid Potash – who resided in E. Israel at the time) in the year 1930.

The letter begins by stating that ‘certainly the sale does not nullify the sanctity of Shevi’is in the field’. As his style, the Gaon brings sources from both Talmuds and Rishonim – proving his vast knowledge in all Oral Torah.
R. Yoseph Rozen (1858-1936) was one of the greatest Torah geniuses in pre-war Europe and served as the Chasidic Rabbi in the city if Dvinsk together with R. Meir Simcha HaCohen.
