The Admor of Piaszetzna Rabbi Kalonymus Kalmish Shapira Hy "d – Kadosh from youth, was murdered in the flames of the Nazis ovens. He was born in 1889 to his father Rabbi Rabbi Elimelech of Grodzysk, who was then the eldest of the Polish Rebbes and a descendant of the Maggid of Kozhnitz from his father's side and the Maor V’Shemesh on his mother's side and was named after him Kalonymus Kalmish. He was appointed as Rebbe at the age of twenty, and at the age of thirty-four he established his great yeshiva in Warsaw where he educated and lectured hundreds of students.
He devoted himself to the observance of the commandments and immersed himself in his Talmud during his time in the Warsaw Ghetto. His sermons from 1941-1944 were written by him in the book of Eish Kodesh and were found miraculously in the excavations in a building in Warsaw.
