Dedication handwritten and signed by Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Freind on the responsa of Maharam Shick (Munkacz 1881).

Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Freund – was born in 5616, a disciple of the Maharam Shick in Chust and a follower of Rabbi Chaim of Sanz, son-in-law of Rabbi Mordechai Yehuda Lev, Av Beit Din of Itardam, and in 1905 was chosen to fill his father-in-law's place and the nearby city of Nasud.
In the course of time, he became Rebbe and many flocked to him from all over Transylvania. He died in 1932 and was buried in the city of Satmar. His grandson is Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund, Av Beit Din of Jerusalem.
