Siddur Ha’Ari Owned and Used by Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund, AB"D of Satmar

Personal Siddur Ha’ari used for many years by Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund, from the time he served as ab”d of Satmar (as evident from his seal) and through his lifetime in Eretz Yisrael.

The siddur consists of two parts and there is a separate title page for each. Rabbi Moshe Aryeh’s seal is stamped on both title pages and is also dispersed in several additional places in the siddur, including a seal from his tenure in Satmar.

Rabbi Moshe Aryeh Freund (1903–1996) was the grandson of Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Freund, Admor of Unterdam. He served as rabbi and rosh yeshiva in Hungary, later as ab”d of Satmar, and subsequently as the Rab”d of Jerusalem’s Eidah Chareidis.

This Siddur Ha’Ari was compiled by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Ladi, and is dated Warsaw, 1886.
