Letter from Rabbi Eliyahu Eliezer Dessler, author of Michtav Me’Eliyahu.

Rabbi Eliyahu Dessler (1892–1953) was renowned throughout the world as a leading Mussar figure in the last generation. His uncle Rabbi Chaim Ozer Grodzinsky highly regarded him and praised his Torah discourses. Rabbi Dessler traveled to London with his father, Rabbi Reuven Dov, for medical reasons, and settled there until he was called by the Ponovizher Rav to serve as mashgiach of Ponovizh.
