Son-in-Law of Harav Aharon of Karlin
Harav Dovid Twesky of Zlatopol was the son of Harav Yochanan of Rachmastrivka and a son-in-law of Harav Aharon of Karlin, author of the Beis Aharon. He was also the father-in-law of his nephew Harav Yisrael Perlow, the Yinuka of Karlin-Stolin and venerated by thousands of chassidim worldwide. Diverging from the spiritual service of previous Chernobyl Rebbes, Harav Dovid engaged in frequent fasting, abstinences and self-mortification. He passed away in 1935. This endorsement letter was written on behalf of a shochet and bodek who wished to leave his local position and settle in Eretz Hakodesh, where he had neither friends nor relatives. In his letter, the Rebbe delivers his personal request to his chassid in Yerushalayim to “Draw him close and seek out his welfare to the greatest extent possible.”
