Handwritten and signed letter containing medical advice from Rabbi Chana Halberstam of Kolshitz, written at the bottom of a letter from his son, Rabbi Moshe Aharon Halberstam.

Rabbi Chana Halberstam of Kolshitz (1900-1942) was the son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Frysztak, nephew of the Divrei Chaim and son-in-law of the Shinover. He was appointed rabbi of Kolshitz and was one of the great leaders of Galicia prior to World War II. Renowned for his great holiness, Rabbi Yeshaya of Chebin testified that he had many traits like his grandfather, the holy Divrei Chaim. He was murdered on the second day of chol hamoed Sukkos, 1942.

Rabbi Moshe Aharon Halberstam of Kolshitz was the son of Rabbi Chana Halberstam and grandson of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Frysztak. He began publishing novellae at a young age and assisted his father in his position as rabbi of Kolshitz. He perished in the Holocaust along with his wife, the daughter of Rabbi David Dov Meizlish, ab”d of Újhely , and his entire family.
