Document from
the Holy ‘Tiferes Shlomo’; Radomsk 1834

Document signed by the holy Rabbi Shlomo HaCohen Rabinowicz of Radomsk, author of Tiferes Shlomo, regarding Radomsk community matters.

The document bears Rabbi Shlomo’s official seal depicting the hands of a Cohen with a crown perched above them, and his full signature: HaKatan Shlomo HaCohen, AB”D Radomsk Rabinowicz.
In this letter, Rabbi Shlomo verifies that the dayanim of his community serve in this capacity in his Beis Midrash. The letter is written in Polish.

Rabbi Shlomo HaCohen Rabinowicz (1803 – 1866) was a prominent Admor who served as Av Beis Din of Radomsk. During his leadership, his name spread and thousands flocked to him from all corners of Europe seeking his blessings and advice. As a result, Radomsk quickly became one of the most important Chassidic centers of Polish Chassidus. Rabbi Shlomo published Tiferes Shlomo, which won widespread popularity and quickly joined the ranks of Chassidic classics.

It was known throughout Poland that the Tiferes Shlomo had a miraculous influence in matters regarding parnassa. The Divrei Chaim remarked that the “key of parnassa” had been granted to him from Heaven so that he could bring about much good for the Jews.

In the beginning of the year 1866, Rabbi Shlomo beheld a vision of his passing from the world that year.
