Halberstam – Rubin Wedding; Vishnitza, 1920

Invitation to the Wedding of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Dukla with the Daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Rabin of Tzfas

Invitation to the wedding of Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga of Dukla, son of Rabbi Menachem Mendel of Frysztak, with Rebbetzin Rachel Miriam, daughter of Rabbi Yitzchak Rabin, granddaughter of Rabbi Naftali Rabin of Vishnitza, son-in-law of the Divrei Yechezkel.

The bride and groom were both grandchildren of the Divrei Yechezkel of Shinowa.

The wedding took place in Vishnitza, 1920.

The groom, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Halberstam, later served as ab”d of Dukla. He was murdered by the Nazis in his home along with his entire family in 1942 and merited a proper Jewish burial.

Rabbi Menachem Mendel Halberstam was a prominent rabbi who was admired by the leading rabbis of his time. In his humility, he refused to serve as an admor. He married his first cousin with the blessing of his grandfather, the Divrei Yechezkel of Shinowa. He served as a rabbi in Dukla and Frysztak. His son was the Admor Rabbi Chana of Kolshitz.
