Autograph Letter from the Admor of Toldos Aharon Addressed to the Admor Rabbi Yoel of Satmar Regarding Sefer “VaYoel Moshe”

Handwritten and signed letter from the Admor Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kahn of Toldos Aharon addressed to his rabbi, Rabbi Yoel of Satmar.

The letter regards comments of the Admor of Toldos Aharon on Rabbi Yoel’s sefer VaYoel Moshe. In his letter, the Admor of Toldos Aharon apologizes to his rabbi for commenting on his sefer, but writes that he relies on the nature of rabbis to enjoy receiving comments on their treatises.

The Admor of Toldos Aharon also writes: “Although I fear that perhaps some of the comments, or maybe the majority of them, will be seen in the eyes of our rabbi as nonsense, still, it is Torah and I must learn…”

Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kahn (1914-1997) was the renowned Admor of Toldos Aharon. He was a son-in-law of Rabbi Aharon Roth, author of Shomrei Emunim. He was a disciple of Rabbi Yisrael Freund of Huedin, and was a Chassid of Rabbi Yoel of Satmar. He succeeded his father-in-law’s position and established the Toldos Aharon Chassidus in Jerusalem, leading for fifty years.

Undated. Circa 1960.
