Letter of endorsement from Rabbi Chaim HaLevi Soloveitchik, ab”d of Brisk, regarding Rabbi Shlomo Zalman HaCohen Kook, the rabbinic emissary of Yeshivas Eitz Chaim, who was the father of Rabbi Avraham Yitzchak Kook.

Rabbi Chaim Soloveitchik presided over a unique committee designated to assist Yeshivas Eitz Chaim in Eretz Yisrael. Rabbi Soloveitchik viewed Yeshivas Eitz Chaim as a “pillar of Torah in Zion and a stronghold of religion in Jerusalem that the entire holy settlement relies on…”

Rabbi Chaim HaLevi Soloveitchik (1853-1918) was a leading Torah giant of the last generation and served as the ab”d of Brisk. His method of studying Torah was adapted by countless students and left its mark on the Torah world at large. In his sons’ introduction to Chiddushei HaGra”ch they write: “He is the man that was Heaven sent as an angel in our generation, to open our eyes in Torah and illuminate the eyes of those learning his method…”
