Handwritten letter from Rabbi Eliezer David Greenwald, Av Beis Din of Satmar, addressed to Rabbi Alter Shaul Pfeffer, Rabbi of the Beth Hamidrash Hagadol in New York and author of Avnei Zikaron Responsa. 

Rabbi Eliezer David Greenwald (1867 – 1928) was the younger brother and disciple of the Arugas Habosem. He was a Chassid of both the Admor of Belz and the Admor of Shinowa. He was known for his emotional prayers and sermons and was an avid fighter against those wanting to uproot religion. Under his guidance his yeshiva numbered more than five hundred students from across the country. His novellae were brought to print by his disciple and nephew, the Vayechi Yosef of Puppa.
