Rare Handwritten Letter from the Admor Rabbi Yoel Teitlebaum of Satmar Addressed to the Imrei Emes of Gur

Handwritten letter from Rabbi Yoel of Satmar addressed to the Imrei Emes of Gur regarding his views on the establishment of an orphanage for Holocaust survivors.
The Admor explains that since his opinion regarding the orphanage’s establishment could be misunderstood, he was sending Rabbi Yosef Ashkenazi to explain his position.
(It seems that the Admor suspected that the rabbis of Agudas Yisrael were receiving funding from Zionistic sources for the establishment of this orphanage.)

Rabbi Yoel of Satmar (1887-1979) was a leading Admor following the Holocaust. A brilliant and pious scholar, he was fluent in all areas of Torah and renowned for his firm stance against the Zionistic movement and its various factions. Following the Holocaust, he reestablished the majestic Chassidic court of Satmar in both the United States and Eretz Yisrael, and served as president of the Eidah Chareidis in Jerusalem.
