Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda Teitelbaum (1808 – 1883), known as the Yitav Lev, was the patriarch of the grand Sighet dynasty. He was the son of Rabbi Eliezer Nissan, Av Beis Din of Drohobycz, son of the Yismach Moshe. A well-versed Halachic authority, Rabbi Yekusiel Yehuda acquired much of his Torah learning from his grandfather, the Yismach Moshe, and succeeded his position in 1841.From 1858, he served as Av Beis Din of Sighet and established a Yeshiva Gedola there. He began leading as Admor in Sighet attracting thousands of followers who flocked to him from across the length and breadth of the country. His novellae are published in the sefarim Yitav Lev, Yitav Panim, Rav Tuv, and Avnei Tzedek Responsa.
