Printed picture of the holy Admor- Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Safrin of Komarna, “who was famous as a baal ruach haKodesh, and performed… wondrous miracles.”

Rabbi Yaakov Moshe Safrin of Komarna (1861 – 1929) was the son of Rabbi Eliezer Tzvi of Komarna, author of Ben Beisi, son of Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik. Rabbi Yaakov Moshe studied by Rabbi Yitzchak Eizik of Ziditchov and Rabbi Chaim of Sanz and succeeded his father’s position as Admor in 1898. In his eulogy, the Minchas Elazar attested that Rabbi Yaakov Moshe possessed Divine spirit and that he was able to reveal things that the Minchas Elazar had done without anyone else’s knowledge. Rabbi Yaakov Moshe was renowned for his emotional and enthusiastic prayers to the point where he would often pass out from the excitement.
