Rare Women’s Machzor Printed Entirely in Yiddish; Prague, 1629

Yiddish translated machzor with prayers for the High Holidays and Shalosh Regalim, including translations of the yotzros and piyyutim as well.

This machzor was published specifically for woman and common folk who were not fluent in Lashon HaKodesh. As such, the entire machzor is written in Yiddish, including the title page, with just the titles of the Piyutim in Lashon HaKodesh.
The collection of piyyutim was titled Krovtz which is the acronym of “Kol Rina ViYeshua BeOhalei Tzaddikim.

This rare and unique machzor is not found in the National Library nor in any of the other large libraries around the world.

Published in Prague, 1629.

Following the title page there is a picture of a ba’al tokei’ah blowing the shofar.
