Original Tena’im from the Marriage of the Maharam Schick’s Daughter, Signed by the Maharam Schick; Yergen, 1861

Tenaim document from the marriage of David Wolf, son of Rabbi Mordechai Wolf of Paks with the daughter of Rabbi Moshe Schick.
The Maharam Schick himself signs the tenaim: Hakatan Moshe Schick of Brezau. In addition are the signatures of the bride and groom, the guarantor on the groom’s side- Rabbi Lazil Neiman and the guarantor on the bride’s side- Rabbi Yaakov Leib Baintzer.

Rabbi Moshe Schick (1807 – 1879) was a leading disciple of the Chasam Sofer who continued his legacy as Rabbi in Hungary. “He never tasted the taste of sin, and his holiness was from his youth until his passing…” The Chasam Sofer regaled him with praise and his student Rabbi Shpitzer remarked that he possessed a tremendous humility which could be compared to Rabbi Akiva Eiger. Rabbi Moshe authored Maharam Schick Responsa on all four parts of the Shulchan Aruch, Maharam Schick on taryag mitzvos, on Talmud, Torah, homilies, Pirkei Avos and more.
