Handwritten, signed letter of friendship and blessing from Rabbi Yisrael Shapira of Bluzhov addressed to the legendary philanthropist Rabbi Yosef Pfeifer.
The Admor mentions that he was working on making peace, probably in the Agudas Yisrael, and mentions that the Admor of Buyan as well was taking care of the matter.
This undated letter is written on official stationary from the Gross Arlinton Hotel, Bethlehem, New Hampshire.
Rabbi Yisrael Shapira of Bluzhov (1891 – 1989) was the son of Rabbi Yehoshua of Rybotycze, son of Rabbi Tzvi Elimelech of Bluzhov author of Tzvi LaTzaddik, son of Rabbi David of Dinov, son of the Bnei Yissachar.
Rabbi Yisrael was from the elderly admorim following World War II and served as a leader of Agudas Yisrael’s Mo’etzes Gedolei HaTorah. He was ordained at the young age of thirteen and well-known for his astounding memory. He published sefer Tzvi LaTzaddik along with his own comments.
