Bas Ayin: First Complete Edition, Zhitomir, 1850
Sefer Bas Ayin, containing Torah novellae and homilies on the parshiyos from Rabbi Avraham Dov of Avrutch.

This 1850 edition includes various additional ideas, rendering this the most complete edition of sefer Bas Ayin.
This edition was published in Zhitomir, 1850, by the Shapira brothers, Rabbi Chananya Lipa, Rabbi Aryeh Leib and Rabbi Yehoshua Heschel, grandsons of the Rabbi of Slavita.
This Zhitomirian edition was compiled by Rabbi Meshulam Zussman of Zhitomir. Rabbi Meshulam was appointed by the Bas Ayin himself as he writes in his introduction: "
And the holy Admor zt"l told me to write his holy words … and I showed him what I wrote and what needed some proofreading, he proofread himself … and he would look into them throughout the entire day whenever he had time, from beginning to end, many times over. ."
Unaware of Rabbi Meshulam’s compilation of this sefer, Rabbi Yisrael of Paltshian compiled his own sefer of the Bas Ayin’s Torah novellae in Jerusalem, 1847, three years before Rabbi Meshulam Zussman.
Unique to the Zhitomirian edition is the fact that the Bas Ayin himself edited the articles. Additionally, the Zhitomirian edition is written with a clearer literary style and includes more content than its Jerusalem counterpart.
