Invitation with Handwritten Letter from Kapischnitzer Rebbe, New York 1943

Invitation from the Admor Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Kapischnitz to the wedding of his daughter Miriam; set to take place on the 10th of Kislev, 1943, in Lakewood, NJ.

There is a handwritten letter by the Admor on the back side of the invitation, addressed to his cousin, Rabbi Mordechai Shraga.

Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Kapischnitz (1888 – 1967) was the son of Rabbi Yitzchak Meir of Kapischnitz (who was a son of Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heschel of Medzhybizh and son-in-law of the Admor of Husiatyn). He grew up surrounded by his illustrious father and grandfather, as well as his holy uncle, Rabbi Moshe Dovid of Chortkov. Following his father’s passing, he succeeded his position in Vienna, where he worked tirelessly to assist refugees of the World War and distributed all of his possessions to charity. He immigrated to the United States in 1938 and passed away in 1967.
