One of the Most Spectacular Haggados Ever Printed!

Illustrated Venetian Haggadah according to Ashkenazic Rite. Venice, 1740


Magnificent Passover Haggadah featuring dozens of illustrations, woodcuts and ornamental initials, printed with dark ink on white paper.
The title page bears the following inscription: “Haggadah shel Pesach written in lashon hakodesh with Yiddish translation, illustrations and initials depicting the miracles and wonders…”

The last page includes the German piyyut “Al-Mechtiger Go-tt” which was sung at the seder by German (Yekke) Jewish communities. Grace after Meals is printed in its Ashkenazic version with an Italian translation.
The title page was printed with alternating red and black lines. Harav Yehudah Aryeh of Modena׳s commentary Tzli Eish, an abridged version of Zevach Pesach by the Abarbanel, is printed on the side of each page.
